And we hold her in our arms

After a very lazy day and a quick trip to RT Mart we got back to the hotel at around 2:00. Our guide called us at 3:00 and said that they should be close. We gave them the proper paperwork that they needed.  At about 3:30, and after some pacing in a room like expectant parents, we get the call, the baby is in the lobby, please come down.

Lucy aka Qing Chuan is lovely.  We say a few hellos to the Orphanage Director and her assistant and then go to the back lobby where it is more private. Our guide graciously goes through my list of questions that I prepared earlier with the Orphanage Director and her assistant. Thank goodness Troy taped it all as I don't remember it all.   Lucy stayed with the assistant and looked scared and knew something was up.  Her trip took 3 hours and it was her first long journey so she got car sick.  After the questions were all answered I asked if I could hold her.  Lucy let out a whimper but allowed for the physical adjustment.  We took our first family pictures and just like that, she was ours to take into our room.

4 hours later, she has not eaten, drank any liquids and does not want to be put down.  There was a one hour moment where it was ok as she watched the iPad with Kyla but now if we try to put her down to change her clothes or we switch holding her, she lets out a terrifying cry.  I have managed to slip off her padded pants 2 of her pony tails, and she is asleep on my chest as I type. Lucy let out a little smile for half a second earlier, but I am guessing that the worried and scared look on her face is taking a toll on her whole body. Her cries are full of fear.

Kyla is being a trooper.  She asked tonight if we were borrowing Lucy and we explained that she is with us forever and is now a part of our family.  The jet lag has made Kyla's ability to listen and behave a bit iffy over the past few days.  We know that this is a huge transition for her as well.  She now has to share us.  We need to be more patient.

Troy feels great about today, he is a proud papa and says that Lucy is gorgeous.  He is concerned about the next few days as Lucy adjusts to being with us.

I hear another baby crying from across the hall.  We know we are not alone as others have travelled and travels this journey.

I will post pictures later.
