Yesterday was Day 4 for Lucy being with us and she is experiencing so many new things.
This picture was taken on January 7, the second day with us. The day she became Lucy Madeleine.
Last night Lucy was having a tough time falling asleep. It's as though she wanted to stay awake so that she could control her life and the changes around her. She did not want me to hold her but wanted to sit on my stomach as we lay in bed so she could make sure I was there. She cried and the the cry was pure grief, she has lost a lot this week and feels the pain. How do we tell this sweet child that it's ok to feel sad and that we will love her forever.
I will let her fall asleep in my arms for as long as she needs.
